Report a concern in the app or email eolas@isteip.com with 'Safeguarding' in the subject. Do not include unnecessary child media in email.
Safe by default
Child profiles are private and guardian-managed. There are no public child profiles, follower counts, stranger discovery, behavioural ads or open direct messaging. An instructor's access is limited to assigned classes and can be revoked immediately.
Practice video
Practice submissions are private, purpose-limited and time-limited.
- Record only the learner and avoid names, addresses, uniforms, bystanders and private surroundings
- Uploads enter quarantine for validation before protected storage
- Authorised playback uses short-lived access; public download links are not used
- Media upload and AI analysis require separate, reversible permission
Report and respond
Every relevant learning or communication surface must include Report or Get help. Reports enter a restricted queue, receive a severity level, preserve necessary evidence and are handled by named safeguarding staff. Blocking, muting and human review are required before broader community features launch.
Adults and organisations
Instructors and school managers must have verified adult accounts, use MFA where required, complete appropriate vetting and training, and never move child communication to an unapproved private channel. Schools must name their safeguarding lead and escalation route.
Urgent help
iStéip is not an emergency service. If a child or any person is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services. Suspected illegal child sexual abuse material must not be downloaded or redistributed; staff follow the documented preservation and reporting procedure.
